Pontoon Beach, IL (July 31, 2005) The Wallace Brothers Homecoming was a huge success at Tri-City Speedway as thousands of fans came out to see and get autographs from Rusty, Mike and Kenny Wallace along with their father Russ Wallace and Ken Schrader. After signing autographs, Rusty Wallace had to leave to make an appearance on a national television show, but Mike and Kenny Wallace along with Ken Schrader suited up to race on the dirt. Mevert started the night off by setting overall fast time in qualifying with a new track record for Modifieds at Tri-City Speedway. Mevert would win his heat race over Chad Kinder and then settle for a fifth place finish in the dash which would set him up to start fifth in the main event. Mike Hess of Petersburg, IL driving the Brian Holderfield owned Stealth/Mopar midget won the OReilly POWRi presented by Lucas Oil Prelude to the Gold Crown twenty five lap midget event at Tri-City Speedway. Nick Knepper, who started on the pole, would lead the first four laps followed by Brad Loyet and Hess. Knepper and Loyet would run the bottom while Hess chose the cushion. Pontoon Beach, IL--The "Moweaqua Missile" Shannon Babb from Moweaqua, IL proved once again why he is one of the best dirt late model drivers in the nation as he captured the "Miller-Lite 50" Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series event on Sunday Night at the Gundaker family promoted Tri-City Speedway. The 32 year old racer dominated from lap six until a pair of late cautions allowed Chub Frank to pass him with two laps to go.
