Pontoon Beach, IL (April 17, 2005) Steve Sheppard won a thrilling United Midwestern Promoters (UMP) Late Model main event at the Missouri/Illinois Dodge Dealers Tri-City Speedway as he edged out Brian Wolfmeier and Mark Oller for the win. Mark Voigt set the pace early on in the main event, but Voigt encountered problems as he came into lapped traffic. PONTOON BEACH SPRINT RACE POSTPONED; A RESCHEDULE DATE WILL BE ANNOUNCED IN THE NEAR FUTURE!             Tonight’s (Friday) USAC AMSOIL National Sprint race at Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon Beach, Ill. has been postponed due to impending weather as a result of Tropical Storm Isaac. Over the winter, the track was rebuilt from a 1/2 & 1/4 mile ovals to a single 3/8 mile oval banked 10 degrees. The new track also featured all new lighting and many other improvements.
