RAIN FORCES “HUT HUNDRED” CANCELLATION

By Dick Jordan - Severe thunderstorms and heavy rain in the St. Louis area expected tonight and continuing into Friday have forced cancellation of Friday night’s scheduled “Hut Hundred” Honda USAC National Midget race at Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Ill. It marks the second consecutive rainout for the traditional event which dates back to 1954. Saturday night’s “Belleville Bash” at Belle Clair Speedway in Belleville, Ill., co-sanctioned by POWRi, remains on tap at the spectacular high-banked quarter-mile dirt oval.
