Pontoon Beach, IL (May 16, 2008) Dewayne Kiefer of Ste. Genevieve, MO claimed his first Super Late Model feature victory against a tough field of competitors at Tri-City Speedway. With all the rain during the week, the track was wicked fast. Although there were no real holes in the track to make it rough, there ripples through the turns that made the track very challenging to drivers. Brian Dively took the early lead in the main event and led for the first five laps before Kiefer slipped past for the lead. Billy Faust would keep the heat on Kiefer for the lead just about every lap. Faust made the pass for the lead on lap seventeen, but a caution flag waved and the field was reset to the previous laps running order, giving Kiefer back the lead and forcing Faust to try again. The battle raged on between Keifer and Faust after the restart, but now they were joined Tim Manville making it a three car race for the lead. Faust and Kiefer battled hard on the last lap, with the two making contact down the backstretch. Both drivers held on and Kiefer went on to pick up his first victory. Faust would cross the line second with Manville third. Chad Zobrist survived a couple of incidents and raced back to a fourth place finish. Dick Taylor would complete the top five.
Ray Walsh of St. Louis, MO took the Modified feature main event. Walsh and Scott Weber were racing hard for second place as Mike Harrison appeared to have the field covered. However, while under caution on lap fourteen, Harrison's car would lose fuel pressure and quit running. That turned the lead over to Walsh on the restart and set up a great battle with Weber to the end. The two drivers wouldn't disappoint the fans as they raced hard to the end with Walsh winning by a car length. Bobby Martintoni would finish third behind Weber with Alan Conner and Brad White completing the top five.

After having tough luck in the Super Late Model feature, Rodney Melvin of Logan, IL took the checkered flag in the UMP DIRTcar Pro Late Model feature event. Melvin led all twenty laps, but had to fend off the challenges of Aaron Heck for most of the event. Brant Kehrer would finish third with Kevin Hardin taking fourth and Matt Santel fifth.

Richie Gabriel of Jerseyville, IL took the lead from Josh Jackson on lap eight and the two proceeded to race side-by-side and nose-to-tail for the remaining seven laps. Gabriel was able to hang on and earn the win. Robby Benson would finish third with Jason Stanton taking fourth and Ron Petty fifth.

Nathan Portell of Festus, MO took the victory in the UMP DIRTcar 4 Cylinder division. Bobby Funderburk and Bob Zbinden battled with Portell for the lead for the entire twelve lap distance. Jason Schmidt got his ride upside down on the front stretch on lap seven, fortunately he was able to walk away uninjured. Chris Williams would finish the main event in the fourth position with Joe Joyce completing the top five.
