Mother Nature slows down construction & forces Tri-City Speedway to push back season opener 2 weeks!
Pontoon Beach, IL (April 1, 2011) Tri-City Speedway took on a huge off season task of completely rebuilding all of their concessions, bathrooms and offices over the off season and Mother Nature has done her best to slow these projects down.
Therefore, Tri-City Speedway will have to push back the start of their 2011 racing season two weeks. Tri-City Speedway will hold their Test & Tune on Sunday, April 17th and will open the 2011 season with a Thursday-Friday, April 21st-22nd double header featuring the Monster Midwest Dirt Late Model Series. The UMP DIRTcar Modifieds and Factory Stocks will join the Monster Midwest & UMP DIRTcar Late Models for Thursday’s action. Then on Friday, the UMP Pro Late Models and Street Stocks will also join the Monster Midwest & UMP DIRTcar Late Models and UMP DIRTcar Modifieds for spectacular event. The Monster Midwest-UMP DIRTcar Late Models will pay $2,000 to win each night and the UMP DIRTcar Modifieds will pay $1,500 to win each night.
Tri-City Speedway would like to apologize to their racers and fans for the delay to the start of the 2011 season. These upgrades needed to be done to get Tri-City Speedway’s facilities up to a greater standard and all the upgrades will be well worth waiting for! Tri-City Speedway still has over 30 nights of racing scheduled for the 2011 racing season.
