Pontoon Beach, IL (July 18, 2008) Matt Mevert of Steeleville, IL withstood the challenges of Mike Harrison and Bobby Martintoni to claim his first victory of 2008 at Tri-City Speedway. Mevert and Harrison battled for the lead the entire twenty-five laps while Martintoni worked his way towards the front and joined the battle up front for the final ten laps. Harrison took the lead at the drop of the green flag using the high side while Mevert patiently worked the bottom and took the lead from Harrison after just a few laps. Harrison would battle back as the two would race near side-by-side most of the way. In the closing laps, Harrison used the low side and got under Mevert to take the lead coming out of turn four, but Mevert would put the same move back on Harrison as they exited turn two on the next lap. Mevert protected the bottom after that, forcing Harrison to use the top side to make a move. Meanwhile, Martintoni moved right in to make a three-way battle at the end. Mevert would win by a car length at the line with Harrison edging Martintoni for second. Ken Schrader worked his way to the front and finished fourth while Chad Kinder completed the top five.
Bobby Dauderman of Alhambra, IL roared to his fifth feature win of the season at Tri-City Speedway. Rylan Dagg paced the field early on as he led the first seven laps before Mark Oller moved past to take the point. Oller would lead the next five laps before Dauderman took command and went on to take the victory. Oller would settle for the second spot, with Casey Montague claiming third. Brothers Aaron and Daniel Heck would complete the top five.
