Richest Midget race of 2008 joins USAC National Midget calendar

The richest Midget race of 2008 – the October 9-11 DuPont “Gold Crown Midget Nationals” at Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon Beach (Granite City), Ill., has joined the USAC Mopar National Midget calendar. Saturday night’s (Oct. 11) feature event offers $15,000 to win and $1,000 to start, completing three nights of racing at the 3/8-mile dirt oval located just east of the Mississippi River, northeast of St. Louis, Mo. U.M.P. Limited Modifieds added to U.M.P. DIRTcar Modified Mania Dirt Nationals at Tri-City Speedway

Pontoon Beach, IL (August 14, 2008) Tri-City Speedway has added the U.M.P. Limited Modified division to the program on Thursday, September 18th during the U.M.P. DIRTcar Modified Mania Dirt Nationals. This will be the first time ever the U.M.P. Limited Modified division has competed at the 3/8 mile dirt oval at Tri-City Speedway. Along with the U.M.P. DIRTcar rules for the U.M.P. Limited Modified division, the specific rules will will be the same as the U.M.P. Limited Modified division that competes weekly at Montgomery County Speedway. (more…)

Lt. Robert Cooney Memorial Benefit Auction!

Tri-City Speedway is joining with the St. Louis racing community to benefit a worthy cause with a silent auction for Lt. Robert Cooney who died due to an off duty accident at his home. He was the Commander of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Dept. SWAT, Canine and Hostage Response Team. He was the ACE trainer for SWAT and Hostage Response Team for our country. He was also Tri-City track officials Carolyn and Gordon May’s nephew. He would have retired in one year. Since he died at home there are no organizations to provide for his family's future. [...]

World of Outlaws Event at Tri-City Speedway Postponed Until June 8 by Rain

Pontoon Beach, IL — May 9, 2008—Record rainfall over the last week has left Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon Beach , Illinois flooded, forcing the postponed of the Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series event scheduled for Friday, May 9. Over six inches of rain has fallen over the last couple of days, with persistent rain continuing throughout the day today. The event has been rescheduled for Sunday, June 8. (more…)
