Pontoon Beach, IL (July 24, 2009) Chad Zobrist of Highland, Illinois put on a dominating performance as he won his first Super Late Model main event of the 2009 season at Tri-City Speedway! Zobrist has been fast all season at Tri-City Speedway, but had been coming up short of victory lane each week. However, Zobrist left no doubt as he checked out on the rest of the competition enroute to the victory. Craig Smith tried to mount a challenge early on, but soon dropped back several car lengths behind Zobrist and would take a second place finish. Mark Voigt seemed to struggle early on in the main event as he slipped as far back as sixth at one point, but he would make a late race charge to finish in the third spot. Bryan Collins would take fourth with Billy Laycock rounding out the top five.
The Modified division provided a classic battle for the lead that won't be forgotten by those who seen it for a long while. Brent Mullins took the lead at the drop of the green flag and he took to the top with Ray Walsh right on his bumper. After following Mullins around the high side for several laps, Walsh dove to the bottom under Mullins and the two raced side-by-side for several laps. Mullins would soon move to the bottom which gave Walsh the opportunity to move back to the top. The two would again race side-by-side which allowed others to join the battle for the top spot which included Tommie Seets, Jr., Marty Smith, Jr., Mike Harrison and Scott Weber. It appeared disaster struck for Mullins on lap eleven when a lapped car got crossed up in front of Mullins and clipped his right front wheel causing Mullins to half spin and cut through the infield. Mullins would drop all the way to fifth after that. However, the caution would fly before another lap could be completed by an unrelated spin turning the lead back over to Mullins on the restart. Things would really get wild on the next restart and Ray Walsh clipped the outside wall exiting turn four which then turned in car into the front stretch wall. Walsh's car bounced off the outisde wall and then came back across the front stretch in front of most of the field causing a mad scramble to avoid him. The only casualty was Dane Gundaker who clipped Walsh's front bumper with his right rear giving him a flat. Walsh would also suffer a right front flat from hitting the wall which ended his run. On the next restart, Mulllins held off Harrison as the two battled for the remaining distance and went on to victory. Smith would take third with Weber fourth. Tim Hill rounded out the top five. It was Mulllins first victory ever on the reconfigured 3/8 mile track at Tri-City Speedway.

Bobby Dauderman flat out dominated the UMP Pro Late Model division in 2008. He won two-thirds of the features ran in 2008 and easily won the championship. However, 2009 has been a bit of a struggle for the driver from Alhambra, Illinois. It appeared Dauderman was in for another bad night at Tri-City Speedway when he had a left rear tire go flat early on in his heat race. Dauderman then had to run the last chance B-Main just to make the starting field for the main event. Dauderman would start last in the B-Main and move up to a second place finish to advance to the main event. The second place finish in the B-Main gave him an eighteenth place starting spot in the main event. For most of the main event, it was a battle between Mark Oller, Steve Meyer, Jr. and Rylan Dagg for the top spot but Dauderman was on the move from the drop of the green flag. Dauderman was running a line that no one else was, the very top. With the leaders all running the low side, Dauderman found himself battling for the top spot just fourteen laps into the twenty lap main event. The battle was short-lived as Dauderman powered his way past Oller and pulled away. However, a late caution restacked the field with just two laps remaining. Oller made a valiant charge on the low side to pull even with Dauderman in the final turn. However, Dauderman would edge Oller out at the line to take the victory. Dagg would cross the line a close third with Daniel Heck taking fourth. Meyer would round out the top five.

Ed Lenhardt claimed his first ever Street Stock victory at Tri-City Speedway. Lenhardt and Jim Bell would duel it out for most of the event, but Lenhardt proved too strong in the closing laps and took the win. Bell would take second with Tommy Gaither finishing third. Josh Jackson took the fourth spot with Tommy Gegg completing the top five.

Chris Fisher claimed the Factory Stock main event. Fisher battled with Joshua James early on and then held off the fierce challenges of Bob Zbinden in the closing laps to take the win. Zbinden was second with Jason Schmidt third. Richie Baker took fourth and Justin Shaw fifth.
